HOUSE: 又分独立屋和半独立屋，就是拥有房子和这块土地产权， 加拿大大多数是这种房子。  独立屋有多种叫法，single-family detached home， single-family home，

detached house，single-detached dwelling，separate house。独立屋形式上有平房(Bungalow和Raised-bungalow)、楼房(包括一层半、两层、两层半，甚至三层)和复式(又分后复式Backsplit和边复式 Sidesplit)几种。

2. 2 Storey split level house 于典型的2 storey区别是二层和basement只有局部，一般living room 和kitchen 只有一层, 比较高，但一般bedroom较小。是建筑成本最经济的户型，流行于1970-90。又分后复式Backsplit和边复式 Sidesplit。

3. Bungalow 就是平房，地面只有一层，主要房间如卧室、家庭厅、厨房等均在一层，地下室部分和主层一样大，常有分门出入。Bungalow曾于五、六十年代在加拿大流行，是典型二战后的产物，因为它造价经济、设计简约、施工方便，很符合那个时代的需求

3. Bi-level house就是basement比较高的bungalow，介于2层和平房之间，入口比main floor 低半层。一般basement是walkout，可以出外边。



一栋房子左右分两家， 公用中间的一道墙。内部结构，使用功能和独立屋一样，也有2 syorey，bungalow 和split之分。但土地和物业产权是各自拥有的，更换外面的墙体，屋顶须两家共同合作。在Montreal法定叫Duplex。

简称

1. （联排屋）。一排建筑物至少有三个以上的单位，左右或是前后相连，但分门出入到地面。传统镇屋大多是两层高，也有三层高，有1-2车库的，也有没车库的，但每户必须有一个车位。土地为所有住户公有, 业主对土地没有直接使用权，每户占有平均的份额。通常有前院或后院。
