更换屋顶小贴士


在严寒的冬天，最易发现屋顶有漏水问题，加上偶尔有大风吹袭，对屋顶的损坏最大，旧屋顶漏水现在已经被看做是加拿大房屋最普遍的问题了！但在雨季时并不能更换新屋顶，最多只可以临时修补，不会让漏水继续或出现更差的情况。所以在春天来临，天气好转时，就要开始准备修补或更换屋顶，这是最好的时机。加拿大屋顶一般的更换年限是15年，如果你的屋顶已经相当残旧或年纪超过15年，甚至是20年，那么更换屋顶就势在必行了！

更换屋顶最重要是知道你自已的屋顶是用什么材料。不同斜度的屋顶使用的是不同的屋顶材料。例如斜屋顶最常用的是木片、沥青（或玻璃纤维）片。而低斜度屋顶常见是用沙石沥青屋顶、焊接式大块沥青片（Torched on Roll Roofing），或铝金属等。每种材料都有自己的特性和优劣的地方。但最重要是使用是否适当，斜屋顶的材料不能使用在低斜度的屋顶，反之亦然。打个比方，如果低斜度的屋顶用错了沥青（或玻璃纤维）片，就会大大增加漏水的机会。
此外，增加屋顶的通风系统也是非常重要，很多旧屋顶由于通风不足够，引起发霉和漏水等问题。所以更换屋顶时要特别要求加强通风！
如果要修补屋顶，最重要是知道在哪里出现问题。当然在天气好的日子，走上屋顶检查是最好的方法，但是，如果屋顶太高或太倾斜，不可能自己走上去，可以在下雨的时候走上阁楼（Attic）内，找出在哪里漏水？然后在漏水的地方做一个记号，方便日后在屋顶容易修补。需要注意的是，最容易出现问题的地方往往是屋顶有凸出的地方，例如围通气口（Air Vant）、水管的气口（Vent stack）、烟囱（Chimney）等的地方。当然，被大风吹走或严重老化的地方，
